Tom Lehrer's 'TomFoolery'

No Foolery! TomFoolery is back. Actors Playhouse, a highly regarded South Florida cultural organization celebrating its 20th Anniversary Season, is thrilled to resurrect Tom Lehrers satirical musical revue TomFoolery after a decade of peace.Adapted by Cameron Mackintosh and Robin Ray, TomFoolery compiles the words and music of Tom Lehrer into a witty, wicked, offbeat and thoroughly twisted musical revue. Nothing is sacred in this hysterical revue featuring such Lehrer favorites as Poisoning Pigeons in the Park, National Brotherhood Week, Elements, When You Are Old and Gray, The Masochism Tango, The Old Dope Peddler and The Vatican Rag. Rediscover the man and songs that have delighted and skewered the world for over forty years.Director David Arisco and musical director David Nagy have assembled a talented cast of Actors Playhouse veteran actors, all of whom have performed in several of the companys critically acclaimed TomFoolery productions spanning over sixteen years. The reunion will include Stephen Jordan who returns to the production for the fourth time, making him the only original cast member.

Running Time: 103 Minutes

"They came. They conquered. They looked fabulous. This wonderfully inventive, visually stunning and incomparably funny Australian import about three drag performers braving the vast, rugged outback won the 1994 Academy Award for Costume Design. Veteran actor Terence Stamp ('Star Wars: The Phantom Menace'), Hugo Weaving ('The Matrix'), Guy Pearce ('L.A. Confidential') all give hilarious - and heartfelt - performances in a three-fishes-outta-water story that's "one of the wildest movies ever made" (Rex Reed, New York Observer)! With a contract to perform a drag show way out in the Australian desert, Tick (Weaving), Adam (Pearce) and Ralph (Stamp) each has his own reason for wanting to leave the safety of Sydney. Christening their battered pink tour bus "Priscilla," this wickedly funny and high-drama trio head for the Outback...and into crazy adventures in even crazier outfits.

Stage stars' real roles: Husband and wife

Two big Broadway stars will join more than a thousand amateur theater artists for AACTFest '07 this week in Charlotte. The American Association of Community Theatres will toast Terrence Mann and Charlotte d'Amboise, married veterans of such megahits as "Cats" and "Les Misérables" (Mann) and the current revival of "A Chorus Line" (d'Amboise), at a fundraising dinner and reception Friday, amid a packed schedule of award-winning shows, workshops and other events.

Mann, a graduate of N.C. School of the Arts, made his Broadway debut in 1982 in "Barnum," then made his name as the original Rum Tum Tugger in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Cats." Starring roles in "Les Mis" (Javert) and "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" (Beast) earned Mann two Tony nominations; later, he created the role of Chauvelin in "The Scarlet Pimpernel." He played assistant choreographer Larry in the film version of "A Chorus Line," among other movie and TV appearances.
